It was so hot today, and the pool was so inviting, that the boys could not be convinced to go upstairs to get their bathing suits.

 
They both jumped right in, and then Theo got right out. Hose water is cold.

 
Gus was too giddy to mind.

 
Theo pretended he was diving in but remained on the outside.

sandbox

 
Last summer we spent some wonderful afternoons in our friends' sandboxes. By all reports the sandbox keeps kids so occupied that a mother can actually read a book. I like to read! So here is our new sandbox.

 
The only down side is that we will have sand all over our house. It turns out that half of my friends who had sandboxes last summer are not filling them this summer. I wonder if it would help if I brush the boys off with a big paint brush before they enter the house?
