visit from grammy and grandpa

Grammy and Grandpa came down to Philly to catch Gus's second t-ball practice. We finally took them to the zoo. And I think they now understand why we spend so much time there.

zoo day

Brother turtles.

Brother people watching brother turtles. (We do not know if they are related. Or male.)

Could not get home before hunger set in.

Gus loves hot dogs.

Chocolate for lunch two days in a row? What is going on with me? Bad, bad mother.

zoo repeat

Another lovely Thursday, so we headed to the zoo again, this time with Evan, Samantha and Kelly and Oscar, Julian and Amanda.

Oscar, Julian, Theo, a random girl who used to live in the city and remembered Gus from Taney, Gus, Evan.

Theo with a bear in a turtle shell!

Phew, not a bear, just Evan.

I should know this guy's name by now, but I do not.

Grrrrrrr . . .

And a visit to the zoo is just not complete without brushing some goats.

zoo

It finally warmed up (40 degrees!) so we headed to the zoo with Evan, Samantha and Kelly. These Pumas were very interested in us.

We were surprised that the zoo carousel was open.

And so happy that Evan took us for a ride with his super zoo pass.

We had the whole ride to ourselves. And pretty much the whole zoo, too.

zoo with chloe

We had a super fun time at the zoo with Chloe and Kate today. And it was by far our longest visit with the animals yet.

We got a close-up look at a tiger, but unfortunately not a good picture.

We ventured into the reptile house for the first time.

Aaaggh!!! I did not like the snakes, but Theo did.

zoo

We met Jannie, Todd and Tobin at the zoo today and spent some quality time with the lions. It is a little scary to have your baby so close to a lion, even when you know it cannot get him.
