eleven months

Only one more month of infanthood. Sigh. Not that Theo exhibits many infant characteristics. He is more like a toddler everyday and getting closer to walking. He can stand up without assistance and likes to stand in downward dog for long stretches. He has no use for "baby toys" and tries to take whatever Gus is playing with. He has been chatting it up on his play phone and on everything that slightly resembles a phone. We are shocked by the number of words he seems to know and tries to say: Mumma, Daddy, Gus, bird, doggie, ball, boat, duck, up, down, watermelon, hello, bye-bye, and bum (as in "Chairs are for sitting on your bum, bum, bum.") He has stared to climb. I am constantly pulling him off the coffee table and following him around the jungle gyms. And if he sees an electric socket he has to try to pull out the safety caps. I had to remove the world map from above the chair in the bedroom because it is too distracting when I am trying to put him down for a nap. So far he has not found a food that he does not like, and is still so easy going, though not too laid back to voice his preferences, loudly.
